Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pelvic Health is an important part of your overall health and wellness. If your pelvic floor is not functioning optimally it can affect or core or be a contributing factor to back, hip, or pelvic pain. The pelvic floor muscles support your pelvis, bladder, uterus and rectum. They play a vital role in urinary and bowel control, childbirth, and sexual function.

If the pelvic floor is not functioning at its best you may experience urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction. Studies have found that up to 95% of women with low back pain have some form of pelvic floor dysfunction, such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, or pelvic pain. The great news is that pelvic health issues can be treated effectively with pelvic floor physical therapy without the need of medication or surgeries with low long term success rates.

Prenatal & Birth Prep

Back pain, SI pain, pelvic pain, pubic symphysis pain, and urinary incontinence are all common problems pregnant women struggle with. We work with you to optimize function during pregnancy and empower you with tools for optimal recovery.

Postpartum Recovery

Pregnancy affects women’s bodies tremendously and our bodies need help healing. We take a holisitic approach to see how your pelvis, ribcage, abdomen and pelvic floor adapted during pregnancy. We will look at your specific outcomes of pregnancy such as  back pain, diastasis recti, painful perineal or c-section scars, bowel and bladder dysfunction, and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dry Needling

Dry needling can be used to release trigger points which can cause point specific or referred muscular pain, improve muscle firing patterns and function, and to gain improved scar tissue mobility that could be contributing to suboptimal movement. Limited motion, constant muscle tightness, headaches and chronic pain can all be symptoms of myofascial dysfunction and can benefit from Dry Needling. Combined with corrective exercise, Dry Needling can be the treatment that ends the constant pain cycle and helps to stimulate tissue healing.

Wellness visits include a movement screen analysis and a corrective exercise program.
